Vibeke graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996. After several years in general practice in Sydney, Vibeke migrated into Emergency & Critical Care work and has been exclusively an Emergency Critical Care veterinarian since 2001. Along the way Vibeke has gained further qualifications in Feline Medicine, as well as Emergency and Critical Care. She has also completed a Masters in International Public Health. Vibeke has worked at major referral and emergency veterinary hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne, including managing large Emergency & Critical Care teams. She moved to Tasmania late in 2016 specifically to work at AHVEC and has loved everything about the move and AHVEC. The family has already increased with the addition of a horse and stray kitten, adding to the other three cats and two rescued Greyhounds. WWWW...

Deb graduated from Murdoch University in 1994, and spent the next 8 years working in outback Western Australia in mixed animal practice. She moved to Townsville, QLD in 2002 and spent 12 years there in small animal practice, where she developed an interest in small animal surgery, and emergency medicine. After a couple more years living in Perth and Darwin, Deb moved to Hobart in late 2016 to commence work at AHVEC. She is enjoying living and working in Tasmania and is currently studying towards further qualifications in emergency and critical care. Lee graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College. He moved to Tasmania after visiting for a holiday and falling in love with the state. After working in the north of the state he moved to Hobart and joined AHVEC in late 2014. Lee enjoys all aspects of his job at AHVEC. Whilst Lee doesn’t have any pets of his own, he enjoys meeting and caring for the beloved pets that come into AHVEC. Nanwyn is our true Tasmanian veterinarian, as she grew up on a farm in North West Tasmania. She completed her veterinary degree at Murdoch University in 2006 and worked in small animal practice in Western Australia, Victoria and the United Kingdom before returning home to Tasmania early in 2016. She has been almost exclusively in urgent care practice for the past five years and has gained further qualifications in small animal, emergency and critical care medicine. She is especially interested in toxicology and endocrinology. When she is not at AHVEC she is enjoying the Hobart lifestyle, spending time mountain biking, bush walking and on the beach. WWWW...

Alysha graduated from the University of Adelaide and decided to move to Tasmania in early 2016 in search of cooler weather and beautiful scenery. She was instantly impressed, and took a job as a small animal veterinarian on the Eastern Shore before joining the AHVEC team earlier this year. Nerida graduated from The University of Sydney in 2000 with first class honours. She worked at the Newcastle RSPCA for a year before completing an internship at a specialist hospital in Sydney. Nerida then stayed on as an Emergency Veterinarian for 3 years. Dr Warburg completed further qualifications in internal medicine and moved back to general practice, but never lost her love for emergency work. Nerida moved to Tasmania in 2008 for a tree change. She has worked intermittently at AHVEC since 2011, as well as in general practice, but now works only at AHVEC. Nerida has two dogs, one cat and three energetic boys to chase. She loves Tasmania and you can often find her out for a run or ride on the mountain. Nerida feels it is a privilege to be able to care for animals. She is passionate about providing the best possible care for animals and their owners. She is also committed to balance and the health and wellbeing of veterinarians and nurses as working in such an emotional field can be challenging but also immensely rewarding. WWWW...

Hannah began her career in the veterinary industry in 2012, as a volunteer in a not-for-profit veterinary clinic in Tasmania. She quickly realised that Veterinary Nursing was her dream job and undertook her Certificate in Veterinary Nursing, completing her Certificate IV in 2016. Hannah is extremely fond of cats in particular, and decided to take a position at The Hobart Cat Centre as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016, and assist the organisation with creating a veterinary clinic within their facility. To further her interest, skill and knowledge of small animal medicine she then approached AHVEC and begun working in Emergency and Critical Care in July of 2017. Hannah’s interests in the industry include feline enrichment, wildlife and pathology. Hannah’s fur family currently consists on one tabby cat and a three legged canine.WWWW...

Nina has been working as a Veterinary Nurse for nearly a decade now, starting in Slovenia, Europe prior to coming to Tassie, and joining the AHVEC team in 2015. She loves the challenging and often extremely rewarding nature of Emergency Vet Nursing and all the “blood-sweat & (happy) tears” it entails. Her other areas of interest include animal behaviour, welfare and ethics and she strives to make the patients staying in hospital feel as comfortable and loved as humanly possible. Susan worked in Sydney as a part-time veterinary nurse and receptionist for 18 years. When she moved to Tassie (for a “sea change”) she worked in the north for a few months while exploring that part of Tasmania, moving down to Hobart in 2010. Susan started rescuing and fostering wildlife in Sydney in the ‘80s, specialising in possums and reptiles and has raised well over a hundred brushtail and ringtail joeys as well as rescuing countless snakes (both venomous and non-venomous) and lizards.
